COWBOY POMMEL SLICKERThis slicker is sometimes referred to as a fish skin. This garment is produced as closely as possible to the pattern in my collection. Original slickers were made of linen and treated with a mixture of linseed oil and beeswax. A fabric that is specially produced for this recreation is not nearly as flammable, but offers many of the same advantages. It covers the entire rider as well as the saddle. The slicker is a light camel color with tan corduroy trim on the collar. It has two rows of white metal buttons up the front; one for the riding position and the closer set of buttons for the walking position. Small

| Just like the original slickers, proper care must be taken before storage or the waterproofing will stick and may separate from the fabric. The slicker should be lightly dusted with cornstarch between uses. Slickers should not be kept in hot locations such as a trunk, attic or direct sunlight. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
